What is a Book?

A book is a tool. It is used for many different purposes. It is used to relieve stress and pain by getting away from it. It can send those who want to to go to other worlds and universes. It teaches information and knowledge for those who seek it. It can teach those who need it how to act in public and be friendlier to people. It can be used to get ideas and information to the rest of the world for those who write. It convinces and persuades others for those who advertise.

Anyone could argue an E-book can do all of this but here is something about a regular book that is attracting. Turning the page instead of sliding a finger across a screen. Running around with a book instead of being careful and delicate not to break it. Clapping a book close when your done for the day instead of pushing a button. A book just feels more natural and simpler. Compared to an E-book a physical book can do so much more. E-books have there limitations. From some thing that happens often, everyday glitches, to something not as often, no electronics on a plane while taking off. E-books require power and batteries but a book use nothing but imagination to power it.

Why I Read

I read for entertainment. I get to go on adventures or have powers I could never imagine. I could climb the highest mountain or explore the deepest sea. I could be anywhere and in my bed at the same time. I read to feel the rush of the action surrounding me. I read to past the time when there is nothing to do. I am someone who almost always have to be entertained and books are one method of doing it.
I read for experience. I can learn what people do. I learn how actions have consequences and just how bad they could be. I learn about romance and the bounding between two people. I learn about other perspectives of families worst or better than mine. I learn the perspective of people who strayed on the wrong path and the consequences it lead to. I use the experience gathered from books in my everyday life when socializing with people or just trying to accomplish a task
I read for knowledge. I learn what the solution to a math problem's answer is in a text book. I learn what the word "mercurial" means in a dictionary. I learn about the news in articles and documents. I learn about history and the errors mankind will not repeat. I read to learn origami in "origami for dummies". I think books where first designed for knowledge and the spreading of knowledge. Books can teach information in many ways in order to educate the masses. I used it to educate myself in subjucts, people, or events.
